Understanding the World Plastic Connection Summit

What is the event
The World Plastic Connection Summit emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic as a response to the need to create an internationalization ecosystem that would allow access to foreign markets in an innovative way. After all, during this period, it became clear that companies needed new channels and platforms to overcome trade and communication barriers. As such, the event was conceived to be the epicenter of growth and development strategies for Brazil’s plastics industry through an integrated set of projects and initiatives.
Since then, the World Plastic Connection Summit has positioned itself as an innovative ecosystem, with eight differentiated projects, capable of providing companies with networking, commercial promotion, business, image, information and training activities, among others. The event has the unique ability to integrate all segments of the plastics production chain: from the extraction and production of raw materials to the transformation of these inputs into end products.

Technical Visits
Technical visits by international buyers and journalists to companies member of Think Plastic Brazil.
Image Promotion
Presence of international journalists and opinion leaders to learn about and promote the competitive differentials of companies in the Brazilian plastic sector.
Realization
Think Plastic Brazil began its activities with 38 companies and, over the last 20 years, it has expanded its share to more than 220. In this period, the portfolio promoted 4,773 participations by companies in the sector in 240
specifically trade promotion projects, resulting in 64,366
meetings. The economic impact was significant: more than US$ 1.247 billion in business generated and a total investment of US$ 12.3 million, achieving an ROI of USD 101.04 for every dollar invested.

The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad and attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy.
To achieve its objectives, ApexBrasil carries out diversified trade promotion actions aimed at promoting exports and valuing Brazilian products and services abroad, such as prospective and commercial missions, business rounds, support for the participation of Brazilian companies in major international fairs, visits from foreign buyers and opinion makers to learn about the Brazilian production structure, among other business platforms that also aim to strengthen the Brazil brand.
